Unlike most of the other Super Robot Taisen games Original Generation features original designs from Banpresto. This is also the first installment in the series to feature the &#039;&#039;Weapon Gauge&#039;&#039; system, where certain weapons can be interchangeable from one unit to another.  &lt;br /&gt;
=Units=&lt;br /&gt;
Units in Super Robot Taisen units are broken down into 6 defined classes, with only 3 units falling outside these definitions. The units that fall outside those definitions are the &#039;&#039;Cyberbuster&#039;&#039;, &#039;&#039;Giganscudo&#039;&#039;, the &#039;&#039;F-28&#039;&#039;, and the &#039;&#039;SF-29 Rangzen&#039;&#039;, due to having magical like properties.     &lt;br /&gt;
==BattleShips==&lt;br /&gt;
Battleships have the highest starting values for HP and Armor, and energy. However for what they have in defensive capabilities they sacrifice in mobility, being the least mobile units in the game.   &lt;br /&gt;
Note: Captains of their respective battleships cannot be assigned to different units, the same applies to their first mates as well. &lt;br /&gt;
