MDragoon: /* Twin System */

=Twin System=
The Twin Battle System let's you combine your units into groups of two.

Twin conditions:
*Both units have at least 110 Morale
*Neither unit has attacked
*Units are within 1 square of each other

This means that you can move next to a unit with 110 morale and twin up, but not if you have attacked first or the other unit has already attacked.

You also must be next to the unit such as this:

:OOO
:OXO
:OOO

Where X is the unit, and the O are the points where you can select a unit to twin with.

==Advantages==
* You attack together increasing the amount of potential damage in a single attack
* Some seishin is shared between both units (even if joining after being cast)
** 加速/Accel, 覚醒/Zeal, 幸運/Luck, 祝福/Bless, 努力/Gain, 応援/Cheer, 再動/Enable, 友情/Faith, 偵察/Scan
* Twin seishin is available (uses both pilots sp)
* Can switch between main and sub by selecting "Main" in the unit's action menu or by pressing [square] provided your twin unit hasn't been moved
* You counter together, selecting whether to atk/def/evd with both pilots
* you can attack a set of twin enemies with either a focused attack (one enemy) or a spread attack (both enemies)
* Sub Pilot gains 75% EXP and PP (Which means that more pp is gained overall) and credit for kills
**Learning Skill will remove the percent reduction causing the sub pilot to gain 100% EXP and PP
* Can twin support (if a twin group attacks next to a twin group where both pilots have support)
* ALL and ALLW attacks damage both enemy units but can only be twin supported by another ALL or ALLW attack, respectively, though ALLW attacks can only be supported when NOT double attacking.

==Disadvantages==
* Enemy also uses the twin System
* If the enemy uses ALL or ALLW attacks it will damage both of your units in a twin
* Since there are less units available, it limits the number of possible attacks
* If one unit is a ground unit, a flying unit must land to join
* Movement is averaged between the two units which slows down your faster units
* If you join after movement, you have fewer options
* EXP gained by repair or supply is not shared
* Main pilots attacking a Sub pilot in a twin do 65% damage, and vice versa.
** The Focused Attack skill alleviates 20% of the damage reduction, making it 85% damage.
*** Any pilot that had the Chain Attack skill in the original OG2 now has Focused Attack.

==Comments==
* Always kill boss units with a twin unit to give you more overall PP
* Twin units together if they have similar attack styles and weapon range
* When a twin unit separates, if all the spaces surrounding the unit are free, then the sub unit will be placed to the north
** If the surrounding spaces are occupied the unit will be placed in the following order:
:: North, East, South, West, Northwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest
*Defeating boss units is considerably easier than the prior games, especially thanks to the Focused attack skill that enables greater damage.
Before the remake, it was pretty hard to kill carla since it had to be done somewhat early in the game before most people would have enough money to upgrade units/weapons to defeat her. It is now possible to defeat her without upgrading any weapon damage and with a single twin attack, and doing so will net you the stealth boomerang. It relates to both the Twin battle system and the Secrets section. I'd be happy to start on a guide, if I can get someone to help me as I'm not too used to the formating and stuff for Wiki pages, and thanks for editing the TBS page too.
--[[User:MDragoon|MDragoon]]
It relates to both the Twin battle system and the Secrets section. *Defeating boss units is considerably easier then the prior games, especially thanks to the Focused attack skill that enables greater damage.
Before the remake, it was pretty hard to kill carla since it had to be done somewhat early in the game before most people would have enough money to upgrade units/weapons to defeat her. It is now possible to defeat her without upgrading any weapon damage and with a single twin attack.

=Twin System=
The Twin Battle System let's you combine your units into groups of two.

Twin conditions:
*Both units have at least 110 Morale
*Neither unit has attacked
*Units are within 1 square of each other

This means that you can move next to a unit with 110 morale and twin up, but you not if you have attacked first or the other unit has already attacked.

You also must be next to the unit such as this:

:OOO
:OXO
:OOO

Where X is the unit, and the O are the points where you can select a unit to twin with.

==Advantages==
***These seishin will also combine to both characters if already cast on an individual unit
* ALL and AllW attacks damage both enemy units but can only be twin supported by another ALL or ALLW attack, respectively

==Disadvantages==

==Comments==
*Defeating Carla is easier on your first playthrough. Twin Attack/Support with Sub pilots that have the Focused Attack skill.
* Grungust Unit 2 has the same twin types as the original.

Someone might find the time to edit this into a table later on, but for now here's what I know, it's not complete yet though. I also don't know enough japanese to translate all of it, so I'll do what I can. Please add to the list or make corrections if you know of any mistakes I've made.

The Twin Battle System let's you combine your units into groups of two.

You can only twin when you meet certain conditions, which are:
*Both units have at least 110 Morale
*Neither unit has attacked
*Units are within 1 square of each other

This means that you can move next to a unit with 110 morale and twin up, but you not if you attack first, or the other unit has already attacked.

You also must be next to the unit such as this:

OOO

OXO

OOO

Where X is the unit, and the O are the points where you can select a unit to twin with.
You can also switch main characters by selecting "Main" in the unit's action menu, or by pressing square (both of these can only be done pre-movement.

The advantages of doing so are:
*You attack together. All attacks must be supported by All attacks, and AllW attacks cannot be supports I believe
*You counter together, selecting whether to atk/def/evd with both pilots
*you can attack a set of twin enemies with either a focused attack (one enemy) or a spread attack (both enemies)
*Certain seishin affect both pilots
*Sub Pilot gains 75% exp and pp (Which means that more pp is gained overall) and credit for kills
*Twin seishin is available (uses both pilots sp)
*Seishin cast on pilots before joining up that can affect both units, do
*Can twin support (if a twin group attacks next to a twin group where both pilots have support)
twin supports do 75%/55% damage ratio, in a focused attack (all units attack one enemy), sub pilot penalty applied, so in total 60% is taken the supporting sub pilots attack I believe (35 for being a sub pilot penalty, 25 for support penalty)
*When Sub pilots attack main pilots, and vice versa, the damage is reduced to 65%.

It is possible to do a twin attack with twin support giving you an attack similar to the squad system of SRW @3. The best part about the twin system however are the twin seishin. They are unusable any other way. This means that any pilot who can twin now has 7 seishin (which means no battleship pilots). Some twin seishin are new, while others are more popular seishin that have been turned into twin seishin. Their are great benefits to them however (Soul now boosts BOTH pilots damage to 2.5x damage).

Every unit has a "Twin type." If you Twin up, the bonuses stack, and if you twin two of the same type, you get the double twin bonus.
Here's a primitive chart of the twin abilities.

This is the format I'll Use:

*Twin units' sub pilots' take 65% damage from Main pilots.
