Description

There are four selectable difficulty levels. You can change difficulties when you start NG+, but not when carrying over save files.

Easy

  • Enemies drop more Points and have less HP.

Normal

  • SRW diehards take note: Normal's difficulty curve drops off a cliff once you hit FMW P.

Hard

  • Enemies drop less Points and have more HP.
  • Enemies will soon start Defending or Evading as appropriate.
  • Enemies in FMW D will start to ignore attacks with 0% accuracy rate.
  • Bosses from FMW P onwards are in general much tougher than their Normal counterparts.
  • Bosses from FMW D onwards start casting spirits.
  • Probably the best difficulty curve, once you get past FMW E anyways.

Lunatic

  • Enemies drop even less Points and have even more HP.
  • Almost all bosses from FMW D have Double Action right from the beginning.
  • Essentially Hard+ with one important caveat: bosses start casting spirits all the way from FMW E.
  • Not recommended because it's really just not very fun.

EX Hard

  • Only in the game code, but supposedly carries over HP, MP, SP and Ammo between chapters. There's some minor regen after each chapter, at least, but it sounds painful.
