1) Between games, weapons change. as such, your girls get their weapon rank reset to 0. In exchange, you get a Point (Money) Refund on anything spent on weapons. you can immediately upgrade them to be the same, but some weapons are better, some are worse, and there are some new weapons as well. Consider looking the characters over before making this choice.
1) The skills system are vastly reworked in both the second and third game, and thus all the skills given to your characters are reset during transfers of first game to second game, and second to third game, with all Graze/PP spent on them refunded. Skills will NOT be reset by transferring from the third game to the fourth game.
1.1) Between game 1 and game 2, a max of 1 million total may be transferred. Anything more gets reduced to 1 million.

2) Between games, some skills are removed, some are added, some are reworked and some have different costs. as such, you lose all purchased skill, BUT all units get a FULL refund on PP spent. While you can rebuy the same skills, consider looking at the new skills added in each game first.
2) As the second game changed the cost of weapon upgrades, transferring from the first game to the second game will have all characters' weapon ranks reset, refunding the Points spent on them.

3) Between games, what wife points exactly does differs each game. As what they do changes, you get a FULL refund of spent wife points between each game. Note in the forth game, if you make a unit become wife level 10, she gets a Full Wife Bonus, and you gain not only MANY amazing bonuses, but also some more ontop that you can pick from. because it costs so much WP, you can only make a single unit have a full wife bonus. (i would personally argue 2 should be possible as by then you can twin units, but oh well)
3) As the Wife Point system is revamped in the second game, transferring from the first game to the second game will have all characters' wife level reset and WP refund. WP will not be reset when going into the third and fourth game, so if you are planning on maxing out a specific character's wife level, you should start from the second game.

4) As consumable items are revamped in the second game (becoming one use per stage instead of one use period), Consumable items from the first game will not transfer to the second game. You will instead start the second game with a set list of consumables based on which route you took.

The Gensou Shoujo Wars / Fantasy Maiden Wars series allows you to transfer save data between games, much like the dot hack series.

Q: How do i transfer my save data?

A: To transfer your save data from one game to the next, simply copy your entire save data folder from the previous game, and paste it into the directory of the next game. the two save data folders will merge.

Q: Will this delete any of my save files in the next games?

A: No. Each save file has a number for what game it came from. so if you already have save files in a future game, you can merge the save folders and it won't destroy your save files.

Q: How do i start a playthrough with save transfer?

A: Simply hit New Game in the next game, and you will be asked if you want to start using imported save data. This question only appears if you have already carried over the save data from the previous game, and have a save file that has beaten the previous game (a clear data save). If you have multiple clear save files of the previous game, you can pick what one to use.

Q: Can i pick a new protagonist?

A: No. you will be forced to be the protagonist of the save file you used. (For those playing the first game, you cannot save transfer a clear file from sakuyas route. as it is only meant as a small 4 chapter hidden route. Reimu and Marisa only.)

Q: Can i change the difficulty between games?

A: No. if your clear file was previously normal mode. your data transfer playthrough will be forced to be normal mode.

Q: What exactly carries over, and what does not?

A: Carry overs are the following 1) All Points (Money) 2) Unit upgrades (But see below) 3) Kill count (For getting Aced status) 4) Wife points (both amount acquired and distribution, but see below) 5) PP (Skill points) 6) Items Acquired (but see below) 7) Your captured spell cards, intermission talk, and other various info acquired.

Q: What does NOT Transfer, or gets reworked?

A: Due to changes in weapons, skills, ect, some things do not transfer, or get changed.

1) The skills system are vastly reworked in both the second and third game, and thus all the skills given to your characters are reset during transfers of first game to second game, and second to third game, with all Graze/PP spent on them refunded. Skills will NOT be reset by transferring from the third game to the fourth game.

2) As the second game changed the cost of weapon upgrades, transferring from the first game to the second game will have all characters' weapon ranks reset, refunding the Points spent on them.
