Opinionated blather:
There's not much variety available for the reals. You'll always have Focus as your
first spirit, Valor as your fourth, and Soul as your last. You're also guaranteed
Alert somewhere in there. The question mostly comes down to picking up/avoiding
spirits like Accel/Bless/Luck/Gain.
Note that Ibis has a decent mix of spirits thanks to her subpilots, but that doesn't
mean much when she has such few choices in the first place. You could make an
attempt to pick up Bless or Zeal, however, and a cheaper Fury wouldn't be a bad
choice. Arado is on his own, but as Seolla has Accel he doesn't need it too much.
Let that guide you as you will.
Worth noting:
Aquarius O - Has the singular Daunt. Might be useful for keeping a boss' will down.
Taurus O - Has the singular Guard. Might be useful for Arado, but Ibis would be
          better off not taking hits.
Cancer A - This is about as supportive as you can get, with a rareish Cheer and the
          singular Rouse.
Leo AB - This is the only set that includes Zeal. This is a bit more recommended for
        Ibis and her subpilots, as Arado will quickly find himself running out of
        SP.
Virgo AB - The absolute earliest you can get Soul, it beats out other sets by...one
          or two levels. Sometimes more, but not often.
Scorpio B - The absolute latest you can get Soul. It's still not by very much.

Opinionated blather:
There's quite a bit more variation in the super's birthdays. You'll always get
Strike as a first spirit and Valor as a fifth, but after that it's very up in the
air. Supers tend to get Spirit, Fury, or Zeal as their final spirits, with a few
lucky(?) birthdays getting Renew or Daunt. Since Valor is the fifth spirit but comes
on about the same levels as the reals, supers tend to get their spirits a bit
earlier than reals. Supers get a roughly equal mix between Invincible and Alert. The
difference doesn't matter too much to Sanger, but Kusuha players might want to
consider Invincible instead, as Kusuha's dodging ability will keep it going longer.
Note that Kusuha eventually gets a subpilot, so she can pick up a few expensive,
rare spirits. Sanger is on his own, and would be better off keeping to cheaper,
more common ones.
Worth noting:
Aquarius B - Recommended by the strategy guide I translated this out of, it's a
            balanced list. Better on Sanger than Kusuha.
Pisces O - Gets three spirits on level 1, which is handy. Also gets Guard and Fury,
          making this a nice Sanger set.
Gemini AB - Gets Rouse as the final spirit. Not something I'd want on a main
            character, but as Rouse is rare, worth noting.
Libra AB - Libra in general as odd, lacking Invincible at all. This is a fairly
          supportive set, with Rouse and Renew as a final spirit. Has an early
          Guard, so if you're attached to an idea of a supportive Kusuha, this
          might be good. Sanger will have some trouble managing his SP in the
          endgame, though.
Libra O - Another set with Rouse, this finishes off with Fury instead. It's missing
          Guard, replacing it with Accel, so it's not quite as useful, but it's
          slightly better for Sanger if he absolutely must have Rouse.
Sagittarius A - The earliest you can get Zeal, by a grand one level. It also happens
                to pretty much duplicate Bullet's spirit list, making this redundant
                for Kusuha and too expensive for Sanger. Ahahahaha.
Capricorn B - The earliest you can max out your spirit list, it is also Sanger's
              default birthday. It's good enough, though I don't like Accel on my
              mains.
