* For Mazinkaiser, upgrades will carry over in NG+ to the temporary Mazinger Z unit. The same goes for Orgun, who will retain whatever upgrades you make to Detonator Orgun in a NG+
** This refers to the secret Mazinger Z you can get (though the game refers to the two Mazinger Zs as the same unit, they are not the same statwise
*** If Gaogaigar is favorited in Part 1 but not in Part 2, Tenryujin will only inherit as a unit from a non-favorited series. However, if GGG Final is chosen as a favorite series on the next playthrough, or when 20 upgrades are unlocked on NG+3, Tenryujin's upgrades will become that of a favorited series. You can't actually "lose" upgrades.
All upgrades inherit retroactively. For example, if you upgrade Tekkaman Blade in part 2 after Dead joins, Dead's upgrades will change accordingly in the next playthrough.
