Six pilots may be assigned to each of these categories to receive the listed bonus. It is a small gain to offset the large cast list and small deployment size. You cannot assign a pilot to a Sub-Order category after deploying them in battle.
Do note that after choice in route splits and re-entering the intermission screen, the sub-order menu is "reset" and you can re-assign sub-orders.
After upgrading the Z-Crystal to level 3, all gains from sub-orders are increased by 50%.
