On stage 35, defeat Waltfeld.
On stage 36, defeat Nicol before Gauron appears, then defeat Yzak and Dearka before Gauron.
 
Take the ORB route (Search for Kaname かなめを探しに行く) at stage 37 and when Kira and Athrun duel, make sure they fight at least 3 times, and then have Kira defeat Athrun before the event automatically plays out.
 
On stage 42, have Kira convince Athrun after fighting him once. You will get Nicol and the Blitz Gundam after that scenario.
