Relationship Bonus Mechanics

A hidden mechanic similar to support bonuses in Fire Emblem, certain pairs of pilots receive stat bonuses when their units are adjacent.

There are three types of Relationship Bonuses in this game, activated when two characters a place side by side on the map, if two units are in a twin together, or between a pilot and a subpilot.

Some things to note are:

• Bonuses stack with one another.
  • Example: if you were to have Ryusei standing adjacent to Rai (Friendship Lv2), Aya (Friendship Lv2) and Kyosuke (Rivalry Lv1), he would receive the effects of Friendship Lv4 (+20% to hit/dodge) and Rivalry Lv1 (+5% to Crit chance).

• If said characters are twinned, the bonus will go up one level.
  • Example: if Kyosuke was in a twin unit with Excellen (Love Lv3) they would receive the effects of Love Lv4 (+16% to final damage).

• Subpilots provide bonuses to the main pilot as if they were adjacent to one another. The bonus does not rise if the combined unit is placed in a twin with another unit.
  • Example: Kusuha in the RyuKoOh with Bullet as the subpilot (Love Lv2) is placed in a twin with Excellen (Friendship Lv2). Kusuha receives the benefits of Love Lv2 (+8% final damage dealt) and Friendship Lv3 (+15% final hit/dodge). The Love bonus is not raised to Lv3.

• Not all relationships are mutual.
  • Example: Shine receives the effects of Love Lv3 if she is next to/twinned with Rai, but he will receive no effect.
