Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is a series that takes place in an alternate modern society in which Japan has been stripped of its authority and identity as it is now known as Area 11. The series is most known for character designs by the popular manga studio, CLAMP, and its complex plot and subtexts, winning many awards internationally. Code Geass would be split into two seasons instead of one long season like most popular mecha series. This method utilized by Sunrise studios would later be used again in its later mecha hit, Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
