Introduction: The Personal Data System
Unlike most Super Robot Wars games, Compact (as well as Compact 2 and Compact Color) does not have a single set of Spirit Commands for each pilot. Instead, each pilot has five potential Spirit Command sets. The set that will be used in a given playthrough is determined by the following formula that incorporates the pilot in question's name and the birthday/blood type information entered in the WonderSwan bios.
Personal Data System formula
- Determine the first syllable in the pilot's first listed name and the first syllable in the last listed name. If the pilot's name is listed in Western order, the first name is the first listed name, while the opposite is true for characters with kanji names. For example, Amuro Ray (アムロ＝レイ) would have "A" as the first syllable and "Ra" as the last syllable, while Benkei Kurama (車弁慶) would have "Ku" as the first syllable and "Be" as the last syllable.
- Find [Month * (PF+Day)] + PL + Year + Bloodtype, where PF is the numerical value for the first listed syllable and PL is the numerical value for the last listed syllable. A conversion chart for the syllables and blood type will be provided in the following section.
- Divide the above number by 6.
- Finally, match the remainder of the above equation with the following chart:

If the bios information is left completely blank, the player may simply divide the PL syllable value by 6 and then consult the remainder chart.
