Earth Federation

The Earth Federation (地球連邦 Chikyuu Renpou) is a collective bloc of political, military, and economic power that represents the entire Earth if not a significant portion. In science fiction, these federations will exist as a result of human expansion rapidly progressing outside the Earth. These governments allow those from the Earth to represent themselves in the presence of other races or keep interests of those living on Earth separate from those living in space. The term Earth Federation in science fiction anime is used generically and often as the name of the global governing entity itself.
