Episode 14: Durandal

Houki: It's quiet this morning....

Houki: Haruka and Koto aren't here either..... Is everyone still sleeping?

Houki: Hmmm? A phone call? From Reki?

Houki: Well then so much for my morning practice..

Houki: This is Houki Shinono. Do you need me for something?

Reki: Yes, I've got an urgent report.

Reki: Shirayuki is missing.

Houki: What did you just say?!?

[Everyone meets up outside]

Reki:.........

Houki: Sorry I made you wait.

Koto: I ran here as fast as I could!

Haruka: I was shocked to hear that Shurayuki is missing! Is it true!?

Reki: Yes. I checked Shirayuki's room and there's no trace of a break in. I find it hard to believe she was abducted.

Houki: Did she go somewhere by herself?

Reki: Probably

Koto: Where, where did she go?

Haruka: Ah, I have no idea!

Reki: Calm down. When people lose their composure their abilities are reduced by half.

Haruka: Just calm down right? Breath in, and out, in and out. hahhh. Uh, but I can't think of anything at all!

Houki: Couldn't you find her by employing the help of the whole of Butei High?

Reki: If the number of participants becomes too large, the investigation will become more confusing and it will likely be harder to find her.

Koto: Then what do we do!?

Reki: Butei like military corps dont act in large groups. We haven't recieved any training for large groups as such it's easier for us to use our abilities if we have a small number of teammates.

Houki: Anyway, let's think about where Shirayuki could have gone. Is it possible she left during the night?

Yes, but the communication facilities are limited.

Haruka: That's right! Shirayuki isn't allowed to go outside other than to the shrine and Butei High. So she shouldn't have left, right?

Koto: Isn't it hard to believe that she would just wander off in the middle of the night

Houki: Finding where she is based on her behaviour is limited. Do we have any other leads?

Reki: The reason Shirayuki left is probably Durandal...... He is a cautious person who doesn't show his face.

Meru: Then, if there are any suspicious places that can't be seen in public, there's a good chance Durandal is hiding somewhere nearby right?

Haruka: Reki, can I borrow your phone? I'll call Shirayuki

Reki: Sure.

Phone: The phone you called is currently unavailable. Are you in a place without service? Or the device you are trying to call is switched off.

Haruka: Eh?

Houki: You can't get a signal? Reki, where near Butei high is there no phone signal?

Reki: If they were undergound there is.

Koto: Underground? Is there a basement in Butei High?

Reki: Yes there is a set of complex caverns underground that runs beneath Butei High.

Claude: Since Durandal doesn't want to be seen, they summond Shirayuki undeground?

Houki: It seems to be highly possible.

Haruka: Let's go!! Reki-chan, lead the way!

Houki: Wait for us, Shirayuki!

[Meanwhile underground]

Shirayuki: It's dark..... But i see some light up ahead...

Durandal: You want to protect the studends here as well. If you comply I won't harm Bueti high.

Durandal: You were worried, even for those guys.

Shirayuki:........

Shirayuki: What do you want with me? I'm not that strong.

Durandal: Don't be humble. Your a diamond in the rough.

Durandal: You have the potential to become a polished gem. It's only natural you'd draw my attention.

Durandal: I'll take you to IU. Your powers can be honed there.

Durandal: Don't try and resist, you just have to do what I say. Just stay in contact with me keep everything a secret.

Shirayuki: Right.....

???: Wait!!

Durandal: !

Shirayuki: That voice!?

??? Angelllllllllll Tornado!!!

[Red Angel appears and knock Durandal back]

Red Angel: I won't let you take Shirayuki!!

Durandal: I was expecting you to find this place, however you arrived faster than I expected.

Red Angel: It's natural! Because we're friends!!

Shirayuki: eh?

Red Angel: Haruka's friends are my friends! I will definitely protect you!!

Durandal: Red Angel.. Twin Angel. Capable of extraordinary speed and power. I'd heard about their strength, but to experience it first hand.

Red Angel: You know me?

Durandal: It's natural to investigate those that might become your enemies. But no matter how much power you have, there are many ways to beat it.

Durandal: Listen, We're right below Butei High's underground ammunition depot, and I've planted a bomb there. Do you understand what will happen if you resist?

Red Angel: So Shirayuki came because you threatened her! I won't forgive you!

Durandal: What can you do? Throw down your weapons and don't try anything.

Red Angel. Tch!

Victory: Defeat Jeanne. Defeat: Shirayuki is defeated.

[Next turn]

Durandal: Follow me, Red Angel. You have already played into my hands.

???: Are you sure about that?

[Deploy] Koto: Sorry to tell you, but we've removed your bomb!

Durandal: What?

Houki: We asked the students of Butei High for help and they removed the bomb from the ammunition room! Now all we have to do is defeat you!

Durandal: But, have you finished defusing it yet? I can still detonate it remotely, you efforts were for nothing.

[The detonator gets shot]

Durandal: What!? The detonator was sniped!?

Reki: I only needed one shot. Bullets don't have feelings, so they don't think about anything. They just fly straight towards their target.

Red Angel: Reki-chan.

Houki: This is it, Durandal!

Durandal: Don't call me by that name. I don't like names strangers give me.

Houki: What?

Durandal: As Lupin the 4th said, your bravery and earnestness is worthy of evaluation.

Meru: She's talking about Riko!

Durandal: But my ancestor, Jeann D'arc was more beautiful and brace than you.

Jeanne: Orlean's Ice flowes, scatter into silver water!

Shirayuki: Everyone be careful! She can use magic, it's dangerous!

Houki: So what? I have decided to fight so prepare yourself!

koto: Have you ever fought with a sorcerer? This looks like fun!

[Riko appears]

Houki: Riko Mine!

Riko: Hey, hows it going! Sorry, but I dont have time to play with you right now.

Riko: Your ordered to withdraw, Jeanne.

Jeanne:........

Riko: Don't make me repeat myself, this is an order.

Jeanne:....Tch!

[Light surrounds Jeanne and she dissapears]

Riko: Sorry but orders are orders.

Houki:....Are they working together?

Koto: She got away.

Red Angel: Shirayuki is safe, thats what matters the most right?

[Stage end]

Shirayuki: Everyone, I'm sorry for causing you trouble.

Shirayuki: I got a text from Jeanne telling me to come here....

Shirayuki: She threatened to blow up Butei High if I refused, so.

Houki: You were threatened to keep it a secret or the school would be destroyed, but deciding that you could handle this alone was a mistake.

Shirayuki: Houki.......

Haruka: She's right Shirayuki-chan

Haruka: If your in trouble or are having a hard time, you can come talk to us. We're your friends after all!

Shirayuki: Friends.... I don't deserve to have any...

Reki: This is my main meal.

Koto: That's it!? Are you even going to get full?

Reki: Lunch is over, let's go back.

Houki: Her actions say she cares, but she doesn't outwardly show it.........

J: (This scene is really nice isnt it. Their cuteness is like living art)

[The next day]

Shirayuki: Good morning!

Claude: Eh, what?

Houki: Can I ask you something Shirayuki, what's with the bag?

Shirayuki: It's for my trip, I'm want to join you.

Houki: What?

Shirayuki: I'm not sure what it will be like travelling with friends, but I've been studying hard.

Shirayuki: Helping eachother and showing your feelings through your actions, I know thats what friends do.

Koto: So, what's in the bag?

Shirayuki: Things that should help me fight alongside you.

Houki: Aren't you not allowed outside of the Shrine of the school?

Shirayuki: I can't leave on purpose, but if it happens by accident, I wont be breaking any rules.

Haruka: Shirayuki-chan.....

Shirayuki: Is this a problem?

Haruka: No, no! We're happy to have you! Welcome aboard Shirayuki-chan!

Koto: By the way how do we actually go to another world from here?

Meru: Well following the pattern so far, If we go to the place where the light spat us out, It should also produce the light.

Shirayuki: So if we go to the place where Aria dissapeared it should work?

Houki: Shirayuki, can you take us there?

Shirayuki: Of course.

[The group heads to where Aria vanished]

Shirayuki: This is the area where Aria vanished.

koto: This is just a normal street isn't it?

Houki: It doesn't look like there's anything special here.

Shirayuki: Butei High also conducted a thorough investigation of the site, but they didn't find anything.

Meru: Yeah, even just looking around now there doesn't seem to be any clues.

Houki: If Butei High searched the area and didnt find anything, we definietly wont

Koto: Speaking of that, Shirayuki what about your position in the school? Are you sure you want to come along?

Shirayuki: At butei high grades aren't the only thing that matters. If your a skilled enough Bueti you can graduate.

Shirayuki: If I treat this as investigating Aria's dissapearance then even if I'm gone for a while it shouldn't have any impact on my final grade.

Houki: Your grades.........

Haruka: Hou-chan, what's wrong

Houki: Nothing, when I heard you talking about grades it just made me think...

Houki: (How many days have I been absent from IS Academy? I never submitted an application for my leave)

Houki: (However, I don't know when I'll even be able to return, so I have no idea when I'll be able to inform them)

Haruka: Huh?
