Talk:Super Robot Wars/Master Seishin list

What's the point of this page? Why there is no description of seishin effect? Why some of seishins are not translated? What first and third columns are standing for? What's the point of fifth column? What is the value of "First appearence" column?

Based on what I'm seeing from its edit history, this was made in attempt to standardize translated names for seishins. The first column I guess is a link to the template used to quickly create Seishin tables for specific lists and games, the third column is just a display of the Kanji itself, and the fifth column is how to use it in the wiki. I personally think we do need this list, but I feel like there is plenty of room to change its implementation and maybe even create more pages and whatnot. This list is extremely dated and made during a time where Google translate wasn't available and there were conflicts between the English OG translations (which weren't exactly accurate due to character limit issues on the GBA) and actual translations. It's definitely done its job, but it's gonna have to go through some changes in the near future.

That's pretty much exactly what it was intended to be. It was trying to use templates to standardize the look and translations of Seishin lists. It turned out to be more hassle than it was worth, so I gave up on the idea. I wish MediaWiki allowed for a simple Wikified Database you could create and access. It might be useful to just turn this into something like this instead. It's a list of all the items and equipment in the Shiren series, and the translations used in each of the games. (This reminds me, I need to see about getting the discussion threading plugin working again or actually get a forum up and running.)
