Talk:Super Robot Wars/OGMD/Ace Bonuses
I changed Arriere to Ariel and Devant to Duvan, as well as Alchemie to Alfimi for a reason. Not only are those their english names in localizations/translations, but they also match the romaji far better. Is there a reason this was changed back? Any explanation at all? --Galuna (talk) 09:26, 8 July 2016 (PDT)
~Because it is Arriere and Devant, most likely. It's both a pun and a reference.
But is that what the characters actually call them by, vocally, in the game? Arriere? I always hear Arieru. And I haven't heard anyone say Alchemie when they're talking to Alfimi. In addition, the katakana used for their name clearly spells that out. If someone is that intent on having their name meanings, maybe there should be a different page for it. --Galuna (talk) 06:37, 11 July 2016 (PDT)
When the english game comes out, I think those names should be considered official english ones. You can't just change someone's name because it's based on an entirely different word. Their names are what are written in japanese, and actually said by the characters. --Galuna (talk) 10:16, 22 July 2016 (PDT)
So the english subtitled version came out. It clearly says 'Alfimi'. Just like in the katakana, the localized games, the pronunciation, and how this wiki has always spelt it. Can someone get a screenshot up so that guy will stop changing it back? --Galuna (talk) 08:48, 6 September 2016 (PDT)
You're a fucking retard. https://srw.wiki.cre.jp/wiki/%E3%82%A2%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AB%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%9F%E3%82%A3 >アルフィミィはドイツ語で「錬金術」の意(英語だとアルケミー)。
